Abbey Hotel & Conference Centre

Although the hotel appears to be tired and in need of a revamp, we were pleasantly surprised. Bed not the best I’ve slept in but definitely not the worst. Room basic but CLEAN. I thought the shower definitely needs sorting out, the shower tray was about 8/9inches high, very dangerous if you stepped back through the shower curtain. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in a very long time! All in all for £79 for two including breakfast you can’t go wrong. If I needed a place to stay ,if in the area again, I wouldn’t hesitate.

We arrived very late for our booking but the staff were very happy to see us and very helpful. All staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel as if they had known us for a long time. I can not praise the staff highly enough. The rooms were very spacious and very clean and met our needs perfectly. My family can't wait to go back.

Stayed here for my brothers wedding and had a lovely stay. Room was clean and quiet. Had a family room.and it was very spacious. Needed another plug by the kids bed for the fan as was a hot night but we managed with the one provided. Breakfast was really delicious too. Thank you!

We booked a room suitable for disabled people, the room was a bit on the small side, the bathroom/wet room was fine, as most of the disabled people I know have some kind equipment to aid there living day to day. there was a lack of power sockets, the service/housemaid staff were very good and helpful as my wife had a fall on the first evening we were there,

What a great place to stay. Love the lay out and feels like your own little bedsit. Without cooking facilities. 2 little gripes. Sadly I seemed to have an abandoned pick up outside my unit and could really do with more power sockets. But the staff were outstanding and the service was exemplary. Would definitely stay again

Very good value for money, lovely friendly staff too. Had two breakfast and an evening meal and could not fault it. Location in very quite with no traffic noise so had a great 2 nights sleep. It's also good to be able to look out onto the garden from your room and be able to open the doors in good weather.

One of the members of staff was immensely helpful, believe his name may have been Louie (tall with yellow hair); friendly, great and fast service, happy to help with directions and generally suggesting things to do in the local area. At one point, we'd run out of soap, but was more than happy to run another bottle straight up to us! Only slight complaint was he slightly messed up on an order, giving me a gin and orange juice when I explicitly asked for a vodka and coke, but this is an honest mistake and given everything else, hardly even worth mentioning (but still has to be said.... how do you mess those two up?!). The Hotel itself was decent enough, a bit old school with some dated decoration and utilities, but completely fine for the purpose it served that night. Would recommend to anyone looking for a shortish stay on the Isle of Sheppey!

I attended a friend's wedding vow renewal here. I didn't stay over or eat so am unable to give 5* sorry. The ceremony was lovely, staff including the manager were very nice, totally professional and very helpful. The Abbey Hotel was clean and they had made the garden special for my friends. Plenty of parking and facilities are well maintained and clean.
